About CMC Vellore
Christian Medical College Vellore was established in the year 1942 and is maintained by the Christian Medical College Vellore Association. It is an unaided Christian minority, educational institution admitting students on merit on an all-India basis. With 1528 doctors and 2400 nurses, CMC Vellore has 67 wards and 92 clinics. The college has 143 highly specialised departments, with the Department of Clinical Immunology and Rheumatology serving over 40,000 patients per year. The institution ranked third in the medical category as per NIRF Rankings 2024.
The institution is divided into two campuses. The main campus is located in Vellore, and the other campus is situated in Bagayam, which is 7 kilometres away from the main campus.
